I often receive a little ridicule from my friends for photographing the seagulls too frequently. The thing is, they are always at the beach, always!

This photograph was taken using a 600mm lens and, as the seagull started flying past, right in front of the sun, I lifted the lens to track its flight. Looking straight at the sun and overexposing the image resulted in a very soft silhouette against a white sky.

The name ‘Peaceful’ came to mind as soon as I reviewed the image on the camera screen.
