I walk past the Queenscliff swimming pool most days. Occasionally, with just the right amount and direction of sunlight and a small amount of wind, you start to see some really beautiful reflections in the surface of the water.
This particular morning I was actually photographing the surfers a short way down the beach but kept getting distracted by the reflections in the pool. Eventually I gave up on the surfers and spent the next 15 minutes or so just photographing the amazing colours, shapes and reflections on the waters surface. A slight variation in position relative to the sun completely changed the colour of the image from gold and black to silver and black.
Not long after these two images were taken a group of swimmers started doing laps in the pool disturbing the oily calm surface and sending me on my way.
