Painted By The Sunset

For a few days I had been watching the top section of a reef as perfect, tiny waves have peeled off as if they were made by a machine. The only catch to photographing them was the fact that they were breaking on a live coral reef in shin deep water.

Late one afternoon I decided to get a little experimental with a lens setup I would never normally consider using in the water. I slowed the shutter speeds right down and literally dry docked myself to photograph these amazing little waves. It takes a fair amount of patience to photograph this way as getting the amount of blur just right to create the painted effect is tricky, but when you do I think it looks pretty special.

Creativity needs eyeballs to succeed, so here’s the deal. Let me show you the best of what I create. I will do this by email, once every few weeks or so. All I ask of you in return is that you take a look. If you want, you can then reply to my emails and keep the conversation going. No algorithms, advertising or junk. Just a way to communicate, between you and me…
